SocioStory Quarterly: the work, and the people who back it
A magazine of stories from India's NGOs and conversations with the people who lead CSR. It goes to our 50,000+ readers and to CSR heads across the country. We're putting Issue 1 together now.
Issue 1 closes to new stories on Friday 6 November.

In the making
What's in an issue
The CSR Desk
Long conversations with the people who run India's CSR programmes: what works, what doesn't, and why.
From the field
NGO stories reported from the ground, many of them from outside the big cities, with photographs of the real work.
Boardroom and field
Where we can, an interview sits next to a story about a programme that company funds, reported by us.
Social Heroes
Short profiles of people whose everyday work changes their community.
Campus
What students, NSS units and SocioStory Centres did in their communities.
How to
A practical piece from the Academy, for people doing the work.
How it works
How to be in it
- 1
Tell us about your work
A short form: a few facts, a few photos and, for CSR teams, your CSR head. About ten minutes.
- 2
An editor gets in touch
Within a week, to ask questions, plan a visit or set a time for the interview.
- 3
We report and write it
Our editors do the writing. You check the facts and figures before anything is published.
- 4
It's published
In the magazine, on sociostory.org and in our weekly mailer to more than 50,000 readers.
Four issues a year
January, April, July and October
Each issue closes to new stories about ten weeks before it comes out. Anything that arrives later goes into the next one.

Our promises
Independent, and careful
We choose what goes in. We tell people’s stories the way we’d want ours told.
It's free, and no one can pay to be in the magazine.
You check the facts and figures before anything is published. The editing is ours.
Real photographs only, credited, with the consent of the people in them.
No child is identifiable in a photo we publish.
